Earlier this week, I spoke with a colleague regarding the importance of data quality for Analytics versus Business Intelligence.  His premise was - data quality for Analytics is not nearly as important as it was originally thought to be with BI because of the impact of big data and associated technologies.  I interpreted his statement to mean - Analytics experts don't concern themselves with data quality because of the process by which Analytics tools evaluate larger amounts of data and the general approach of Analytics (What Happened vs. Why Did It Happen).

Although I'm very new to this community (Data Science Central), it does appear the general position is Analytics is part of a broader concept of BI, which I agree with.  My colleague's comments surprised me and I would appreciate your thoughts/advise.  Thanks, Eric
