The following simulation is based on a presentation that I attended in the 1990s. I was an investment junkie back then. I sat down, and I listening to people speak about their ideas on making money - on television and sometimes live. The presenter in this case was trying to explain that investment success is sometimes a matter of chance. He had people in the audience stand up. He asked them to guess heads or tails. Those that were correct continued to the next round - to guess again -…Continue
This article is intended for practitioners who might not necessarily be statisticians or statistically-savvy. The mathematical level is kept as simple as possible, yet I present an original, simple approach to test for randomness, with an interesting application to illustrate the methodology. This material is not something usually discussed in textbooks or classrooms (even for statistical students), offering a fresh perspective, and out-of-the-box tools that are useful in many contexts, as…Continue
Algorithm is vital part to make a business model. So,we need to understand all algorithms which already exists. Profound questions asked by a guy who I met recently. I slightly smiled and whispered! even, I had the same question two months back, Don’t assume me as an expert but I could explain them in details with example,
“Business model for generation has been divided into nine segments, every segment give us a space for detailed study. Let me explain the customer segments and how it…

Relationship & Money are playing predominant part in exorbitant lifestyle. Perhaps ,Industries and Technology revolution are dragging us into this busiest world. But, no one want to give up them since without these stuffs , we can’t live and moving forward for the betterment. Thinking about the future is good idea, no one will determined which will be driving our future. If you think that is money, then why are we dealing currencies as number with digital techniques. If you say…Continue

Making money is very easy from Restaurant but consistency on success run is the difficult part due to various factors like competitors, customer needs in terms of variety , holiday specials and luxury expectations in dining. These could be maintained easily if we look at our past business & predict the future by injecting various parameters in it.
Here, I have taken data from online to prepare a prediction plan for group restaurants , those are using the site for…Continue

One of the first things we do after launching a website nowadays is connect to Google Analytics. A little bit down the road we’ll connect more “out-of-box” analytics tools to calculate funnels, retention, A/B tests, and more.
These tools are great and work fine until a company gets bigger and analytics requirements get more sophisticated. It’s time to set up a data infrastructure, which means selecting a data collection tool, ETL tool, data warehouse, and BI tool on top of…Continue

I’d like to introduce a series of blog posts and their corresponding Python Notebooks gathering notes on the Deep Learning Book from Ian Goodfellow, Yoshua Bengio, and Aaron Courville (2016). The aim of these notebooks is to help beginners/advanced beginners to grasp linear algebra concepts underlying deep learning and machine learning. Acquiring these skills can boost your ability to understand and apply various data science algorithms. In…Continue
I’m sure you’ve probably heard about the 2018 FIFA Football World Cup in Russia everywhere during the last few months. And, if you are a techy too, I guess you also have realized that Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are buzzwords too. So, what better way to get ready for the World Cup than by practicing in a project that combines these two hot…Continue

The mantra for technology evolution has been to replace or minimize human assistance with machines. Traditionally human support systems are rapidly being replaced by machines & by automation. The dependence on human decision-making is shrinking fast. If we take a domestic cooking gas stove as an example, we now have the automated safety gas stove where the gas supply can be cut off completely by itself in case of gas leakage or mishandling, thus avoiding fatal accidents and…Continue

After spending numerous evenings and weekends learning and coding for more than a year, you finally did it! You’ve now completed your data science program, earned your shiny certificate...now what? Chances are you were looking to get a job in data when you signed up for the course. So let’s…Continue
In this article we will review application of clustering to customer order data in three parts. First, we will define the approach to developing the cluster model including derived predictors and dummy variables; second we will extend beyond a typical “churn” model by using the model in a cumulative fashion to predict customer re-ordering in the future defined by a set of time cutoffs; last we will use the cluster model to forecast actual revenue by estimating the ordering parameter…Continue

Many of “out-of-the-box” analytics solutions come with automatically defined user sessions. It’s good to start with, but as your company grows, you’ll want to have your own session definitions based on your event data. Analyzing user sessions with SQL gives you flexibility and full control over how metrics are defined for your unique business.
The session is usually defined as a group…

New reforms under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) started as an attempt to standardize data protection regulations in 2012. The European Union intends to make Europe “fit for the digital age.” It took four years to finalize the agreements and…Continue
Summary: GDPR carries many new data and privacy requirements including a “right to explanation”. On the surface this appears to be similar to US rules for regulated industries. We examine why this is actually a penalty and not a benefit for the individual and offer some insight into the actual wording of the GDPR regulation which also offers some relief.
