Dr. Steckley is currently Chief Data Scientist at DiscoverOrg, and has previously served as CTO at several companies including DiscoverOrg, Makad Energy, PowerMand, and @Once. Having over 30 years experience in applied engineering research, data analysis, and software architecture & development, he has designed hardware and software systems for public and private sector applications and is the author of several papers in the fields of data acquisition, modeling & simulation, wind engineering, and risk assessment. He Founded two engineering research firms and designed and deployed field data acquisition systems for environmental monitoring at petrochemical plants. His experience in developing simulation and predictive models spans a wide range of domains including climate modeling, hurricane forecasting, health care delivery, and sales & marketing data analysis. He has performed advanced research and software development for such clients as the DoD, FEMA, major Utilities, and national insurance companies. Dr. Steckley holds advanced degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario.
