  • Deep learning is a version of machine learning that uses artificial intelligence principles, such as pattern recognition or the automation of decision science to deliver actions such as driverless car driving
  • IoT is about sensor data collected from various devices via an HTTP protocol, to be analyzed to automate various processes (warming up your home, turning the lights on and off) and generate alerts as needed  (when an oil well is about to experience big problems)

By ignoring the large impact of the term "artificial intelligence" which can be considered a more general term, and removing "IOT" which had a recent spike in interest, comparing only "machine learning", "deep learning", "data science" you also get an interesting view.

Analysis: Machine learning is a more popular search term world wide than data science going back at least 10 years.

What is also interesting is to see the search results by country such as United States or India, which also provides a heat map to which states/provinces search for the topics more.
