I've always been a fan of data visualization. It's easier for most folks to glean insights from pictures rather than columns of text.
I was recently looking at some 3D scatter plots generated by the powerful R programming language. The illustrations are wonderful, but they appeared to be trapped in a static, two-dimensional representation.
I had the thought: what if users could maneuver through 3D scatter plots as if they were playing a "First-Person-Shooter" (FPS) game? Like games such as Duke Nukem or Doom?
