I have decided to become a data scientist

Working with voter data in Florida for more than 20 years I have always been interested in data and trend analysis.  My primary job was systems analyst, it is time for me to break out of the rut and move on to data science.

I read Zeeshan Usmani’s post “How to Become a Data Scientist for Free”

Zeeshan Usmani  said “so what one can do to become a data scientist if he/she cannot afford or get selected in the aforementioned competitive and expensive programs. What someone from a developing country can do to improve his/her chances of getting hired in this very important field or even try to use these advanced skills to improve their own surroundings, communities and countries.”

Using his cheat sheet and few others that I have found on the internet I am going to do it.

To quote the wisdom of Miley Cyrus

Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb

So wish me luck

Hi Jerry! Good Luck in your climb! I am working as a Business and System analyst for 18 years, mostly in the banking domain. I have a doctorate in Physics and I live in a developing country: Brazil. I have the same interests about data and trend analysis. So, I decided to become a data scientist too. Good luck for the both of us!
