As more public datasets are opened up, finding effective ways to communicate the messages within them becomes increasingly important. There is no shortage of data available to us, but it can be difficult to extract meaning from it in its raw state. That’s where data visualisation comes in. Effective data vis can simultaneously communicate the micro and the macro, presenting a story to the viewer through the use of size, shape and colour.
