I graduated from Physics at La Sapienza University in Rome with a high resolution molecular spectroscopy thesis on experimental testing of the theory that explains the shapes of spectral lines by varying pressure and temperature. After an exciting experience over five years, as an ENEA researcher in Frascati, during which I published several scientific contributions (some here: http://www.researchgate.net/profile/Francesco_Pelagalli/publications), I started a professional career in the IT industry involved in both technical and management roles.
In 20 years of IT activity, I have experienced many fields of computing: from collection and analysis of requirements to technical specifications, design and implementation of batch applications. Since 2002 my job is focused on designing BI solutions, performing data analysis and implementing visual analytics, with traditional and in-memory technologies. I recently carried out data analysis activities in Open Data projects on open source technologies.
As a teacher I did care the preparation and distribution of a courses aimed at colleagues on designing data warehousing systems and on customer site both on analytical platforms and in-memory technologies.
Specialty: design of data models, cognitive systems and analytic applications, BI analyst and Open Data.
