I am the Chief Data Science for a command in the Department of the Navy. I hold a PhD in Information Science. I have been working in the CS domain for 30 plus years with my concentration in Cyber Security and predictive analysis. As the Data Science Directorate I have been tasked to move the Navy into a data-driven decision making paradigm. I imagine that if you were to ask 100 people to describe a data-driven decision making paradigm you would get 200 responses. Given that, I figure that I will lose all grasp of reality sometime in the next 5 years.
My research interests are:
o Data-driven Security Analytics
o Predictive Security Procedures
o Bayesian Networks Based System Security
o Data-aggregation Risk in a Data-centric Environment
• Computer Network Operations (CNO)
o Cyber Warfare
o Resilient Network Operations / Self-Healing Infrastructures
o Predicting Malicious Cyber Behavior
o Homegrown Violent Extremists
o Reverse Radicalization of Domestic Terrorists
o Social Network Analysis
o Predictive Behavior Analysis
Years of Experience:
Way to much to believe that anyone really knows what is true
