Deepen your data science expertise and develop skills that employers need with the 100% online University of Wisconsin Master of Science in Data Science. The 12-course degree is designed for adult students who need the flexibility of an online program. While you'll follow a traditional semester-based schedule, you can watch lectures, contribute to class discussions and connect with your instructors when it's convenient for you.  

As a student in the UW Data Science graduate program you will learn to: 

  • Clean and analyze unstructured data using languages and tools like Python, R, SQL, Spark, Scala and Hadoop
  • Create effective visualizations to maximize comprehension of complex data sets 
  • Investigate ethical issues in data science including privacy, security, piracy, and intellectual property rights 
  • Distill vast stores of complex, unstructured data into actionable insights to support data-driven initiatives
