The Data Science Institute at Columbia University is training the next generation of data scientists and developing innovative technology to serve society.
The Institute offers interdisciplinary data science graduate programs that prepare students to expand their career prospects or change career paths by developing foundational data science skills, including a Master of Science in Data Science and a non-degree Certification of Professional Achievement in Data Science.
“The Data Science Master program at Columbia's Data Science Institute provides a unique mix of theoretical classes, hands-on experience and direct contact with industry projects. I think this practical experience is invaluable on a student’s way to become a Data Scientist, and I'm proud to be part of this program.” - Andreas C. Müller, Lecturer in the Discipline of Data Science at Columbia University, and co-author of "Introduction to Machine Learning with Python” from O’Reilly Media.
Our graduate students also have the ability to engage with the Institute’s industry partners through applied capstone projects, sponsored research opportunities, and internships. The Institute also hosts many events throughout the year including career fairs, hackathons and other related activities that inspire the entrepreneurial spirit.
