, the online Master of Science in Business Analytics program from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, helps data-driven thinkers develop or sharpen their abilities to interpret complex data and guide their organizations in making more educated, actionable decisions.
The curriculum takes an action-oriented approach to developing and supporting skilled data analysts. Students develop an interdisciplinary understanding of the applications of analytics by using techniques for data collection, data visualization, statistical and pattern analysis, and data mining. Required courses include Data Analysis and Decision Making, Business Analytics, Accounting Analytics, Financial Analytics, Marketing Analytics, and Principles of Management Science.
By the time students complete the business analytics master’s program, they will be able to:
- Collect and organize data.
- Identify patterns in data via visualization, statistical analysis, and data mining.
- Develop alternative strategies based on the data.
- Develop a plan of action to implement the business decisions derived from the analyses.
The program can be completed in 18 months, and GMAT waivers are available to professionals with five or more years of work experience.
