This event describes Foldit and EteRNA, a series of new scientific discovery games we have developed to solve real scientific problems.
These games lead us to wonder: how many unknown "Kasparovs" are out there on the Internet -- potential experts at tasks they never knew existed?
Is this the future of expertise?
Guest Speaker:
Dr. Adrien Treuille leads a new effort in Google Machine Intelligence, is a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was co-creator of the scientific discovery games Foldit and Eterna (more), and has been recognized with MIT TR35 and the National Science Foundation CAREER award. A documentary segment on his work aired nationally on PBS/NOVA.
