Event Description

A two-day conference exploring Data Science research and applications for business and institutions.

The Barcelona Data Science Meeting is a biennial event organized by the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics that brings together international experts from academia and the industry on Data Science.

It is a two-day event, the first day dedicated to research in Data Science and the second on Data Science applications for businesses and institutions. The conference aims to create an open environment for debate and exchange of knowledge, ideas, and views among researchers, professional experts, and students. The first edition of this meeting will take place in 2016.

Confirmed speakers

This year’s speakers’ research intersects with different scientific disciplines, in particular Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Economics, Bioinformatics. Their talks will communicate their angle on Data Science and will address a fairly diverse audience that will include also graduate students.

Meeting format

Monday, March 21: Research in Data Science

On Monday, the meeting will run from 11h to 17h, including lunch and coffee breaks, and will consist of 50’ talks by our guests from academia, followed by questions.

Tuesday, March 22: Data Science for Businesses and Institutions

On Tuesday there will be short talks and roundtable discussion by companies. The details of companies will be announced shortly.
