We all know that Data does not lie. However, when we create visualizations we may at times “stretch the truth.”  This is often done to help others realize the true story, at least the truth as it’s been revealed to us through data. So what are the implications of that? And how do we approach data visualizations ethically? Another important point is that Data is not just facts; and through Data Visualizations it is our next creative medium.

In this latest Data Science Central live webinar, Jeff Pettiross of Tableau Research will explore the parallel history of painting and data, studying their emergence as creative fields, and then ground that theory with tools and techniques to visualize and present data both creatively and truthfully.

Speaker: Jeff Pettiross, Senior Manager, UX Research  -- Tableau
